African Cup of Nations, International
Monday, 18 January – 16:00 GMT (TV – Live on Eurosport)
Mali
- Mali came back from four goals down against Angola on the opening day
- The Eagles have players of real quality in their squad as Keita, Diarra, Sissoko and Kanoute
- Mahamadou Diarra and Bakary Soumare will be missing after being booked twice
- Malawi’s defence is easy to caught at sixes and sevens, and that problem may help Kanoute and Keita to find an easy way through.
- Stephen Keshi and his team know this will not be an easy game to win
Malawi
- Malawi have just one previous African Cup of Nations appearance, back in 1984
- A win for the Flames against Mali will allow them to qualify for the last eight
- They stunned Algeria 3-0, but then lost to hosts Angola 0-2
- Russell Mwafulirwa is back in contention after missing the defeat against Angola
- A draw is enough to progress to the knockout stages, hoping meanwhile Angola to beat Algeria
