- Groningen have been in great form after the winter break and defeated AZ 1-0 on Saturday evening thanks to Tim Matavz goal;
- The team picked up 10 points from last 4 games, which is a big success seeing they played Sparta, Heerenveen, Twente and AZ Alkmaar during that period, and showed very decent football;
- They have been inconsistent at the beginning of this season, but with this win they have climbed to 9th spot in the table with 24 points;
- The coach Ron Jans should deal without Sepp de Roover, Petter Andersson, Ondrej Svejdik, Nicklas Pedersen, Tim Sparv and Koen van der Laak due to injury, while Gibrаil Sankoh is suspended;
