Rubin Kazan
- Russian champions Rubin have not played a competitive match since they won the title in Russia before Christmas;
- But they defeated CSKA Moscow 1-0 in the Russian Super Cup this weekend to warm up for the visit of the German side ;
- They progressed in previous round of Europa League against the tough team of Hapoel Tel-Aviv with convincing 3-0 and 0-0
- Rubin have signed 2 new players – defender Jordi Figueras and Turkish striker Fatih Tekke , but lost Alejandro Dominguez who signed with Valencia
- The coach Kurban Berdiev probably will start with the same team that defeated CSKA Moscow;
Possible starting eleven (4-5-1): Ryzhikov, Kaleshin, Salukvadze, Cesar Navas, Ansaldi; Karadeniz, Sibaya, Murawski, Noboa; Bukharov, Kabze
Wolfsburg
- Temperatures of around -10 degrees may be are familiar to Wolves, but the Rubin’s pitch is a great concern after a tough winter;
- German champions are out of the fight for the title, but at least managed to put any relegation fears behind and moved into mid-table;
- Wolfsburg made the trip to Kazan without last season’s top goalscorer Grafite and defender Andrea Barzagli, who picked up injuries last weekend.
- Karim Ziani and the goalkeeper Diego Benaglio are also out and although Jan Simunek seems to recover probably he will be replaced at centre-back from Daniel Reiche;
- Edin Dzeko left the last training and he will be doubtful for the match too
Possible starting eleven (4-4-2): Hitz, Pekarik, Madlung, Simunek, Schafer; Riether, Josue, Dejagah, Gentner; Dzeko, Martins
MY PREDICTION – RUBIN TO WIN with possible result 2-1
